Environment/Quality of Life
I've got a record on the environment, saving thousands of acres of open space in just four years as Chairman of Open Space for Northampton County. Environmental protection and open space are particularly critical issues here in Northampton County; we’ve seen massive population changes and rapid development over the last few years which threaten the natural beauty of our area, and we need a representative in Harrisburg who, like Rich Grucela, understands the challenges these changes put on our schools, our local governments, and our county governments.
For us to balance the jobs created by development with the imperative of maintaining the particular character that makes Northampton County a great place to live and raise a family. Harrisburg has to be a partner in managing development. Toward that end, I would support stronger zoning laws to help communities protect against runaway development.
